TUTORIAL: creating a realistic raw wood text

It's a good time to make a text composed of raw (unworked) wood. It's a very convincing effect that was already useful for me several times.

You can create it with no effort by going to this online wood text maker and setting its data this way:
- Text: WOOD (type as you need);
- Font size: Big;
- Margin: 3;
- Background color: FFFFFF;
- Font name: Dragon Order.

Doing as told above, it's the delivered image (click to enlarge):

Extra tips:
- the chosen font helps to get a wild mood, but this effect is very powerful and can generate amazing results with many different fonts;
- usually I prefer the result when selecting a font with average thickness (not too thin, neither too thick);
- depending on the final image you are looking for, it could be a good idea to try a brown background color;
- generate a lot of nice wood text effects by taking advantage of these free online text effects.

Is there a text effect you would like to see here? You can ask for it commenting here or sending me an e-mail.
