This tutorial is to create a golden text that looks rougher than the worked and polished metallic texts you usually find here. It's a good option when you want a metallic text that seem to be more in original state.
Try it by going to the renderer that generates the golden text effect and configuring it as suggested:
- Text: brute gold (set as you wish);
- Font size: Normal;
- Margin: 3;
- Background color: 808000;
- Font name: Covington.
Doing this way, we can get this result (click to enlarge):
Extra tips:
- you can get a nice image by choosing a white background too. Don't use a very dark back color, or the shadows outside the text will not be visible;
- the main reason this effects looks rawer is because it doesn't have a shiny polished 3D border;
- in this case, usually you get better results by setting a reasonably thin font face;
- if you prefer a brighter and more worked metallic effect, choose from these dozens of professional text effects options.

TUTORIAL: a text made of vegetables
Today let's play a little with a nature look again. It's about creating a text made of vegetables.
To make this one, surf to this free text effect, so set its interface like this:
- Text: vegetables (choose your text);
- Font size: Big;
- Margin: 3;
- Background color: FFFFFF;
- Font name: Wake & Bake.
If you did as I told, you got something like this (click for a full size viewing):
Extra tips:
- the chosen font helps to get a stronger "plant mood". For sure it's not a good idea setting a very regular font face in this case;
- you can try some green or brown background colors to see if you like them more;
- use the best online text effects to get amazing and professional banners or headers.

TUTORIAL: a shiny ice text effect
Maybe you already know we are used to create very nice ice text effects here. Now let's discuss an interesting point: good ice effects usually need a black or dark blue background color, don't they? It can be a problem if you need to use a different back color. To solve this, you need an effect with an amazingly strong ice look - it will not lose the "cold mood" even if you apply a very unfavorable environment color. This effect offers exactly this feature.
You can try it just opening this ice text effect and configuring its parameters this way:
- Text: heat my cold (set as you wish);
- Font size: Normal;
- Margin: 4;
- Background color: 800000;
- Font name: WetPaint.
Making like that, you can get this result (click for a full size viewing):
Extra tips:
- I have chosen this back color exactly to show how this effect is strong enough to stay seeming ice even when surrounded by a red color (the worst color when the subject is ice effect);
- this effect is so powerful because of its eye catching, very shiny ice style (it looks to be emanating cold), what is even improved by its strong 3D look;
- this big set of professional text effects even has an entire section dedicated to ice effects.
